Brian M. Bentrup joined MacDonald, Lee & Senechalle, Ltd. in January 2018. His practice focuses on estate planning, guardianships of minors and disabled adults, probate and trust administration, and commercial real estate.

Brian enjoys working with individuals and married couples with basic to more complex needs who want to implement holistic estate plans or need their existing plans updated. Brian also engages with families who have recently experienced a loss and need their loved one’s estate settled, or who have a loved one experiencing cognitive decline in need of a guardian.

Brian also represents owners of commercial properties who need new leases negotiated and drafted. He has extensive experience in assisting clients selling their current commercial properties or purchasing new ones.

Brian is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago where he triple-majored in Economics, Political Science, and Psychology. In 2015, he obtained his law degree from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law (formerly The John Marshall Law School). Brian is a member of the American Bar, Illinois State Bar, Cook County Bar, DuPage County Bar, and Chicago Bar Associations.

Brian previously served on the Executive Committee of the Chicago Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Section as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Chicago Bar Association’s @theBar Blog and as Chair of the DuPage County Attorney Wellness Committee. Brian has written articles that have been published in the Chicago Bar Association’s Record publication and the @theBar Blog. He also co-authored a chapter for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education with Alfred S. Lee on asset protection trusts.

Brian is licensed to practice in Illinois and Missouri. When not practicing law, he enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and son, watching St. Louis sports teams, and exploring new and different culinary experiences.
