How Do I Start a Nonprofit Organization?

Back to Chicago Law Firm Video FAQs

Transcription

There are a number of steps to set up a nonprofit organization.

The first is to establish a non for profit corporation with the state of Illinois. Also setting up a 501(c)(3) tax exempt status with the IRS will enable the organization to go about its fundraising effectively.

Other topics would include regulatory compliance, and setting up good employment practices so that the organization operates effectively.
