What Is a Trust?

Back to Chicago Law Firm Video FAQs

Transcription

A trust is a document that details what happens upon your passing away. The biggest problem that we see with trust though is that clients don’t understand that you actually have to transfer all your assets into the trust.

I can’t tell you the number of times clients come to us with these documents and often times we find that they only have forms, not plans. A plan is looking at all your assets, making sure that they coordinate with the trust so you have an effective plan, not simply a form.
