Should I Retain an Attorney to Draft My Employee Handbook?

Back to Chicago Law Firm Video FAQs

Transcription

I believe that any type of legal document that sets out the agreements and obligations of two parties should be drafted by an attorney so that it complies with the laws of the locale where the agreement was used, and that includes employee handbooks.

I have seen employee handbooks used by corporations that were drafted model after the laws of a different state and as a result, what both parties thought was an enforceable agreement was not and could lead to a serious dispute.
